Sonologists

Dr Diane Davies

Diane Davies - Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Women's Imaging Services

MBS (WA) FRANZCOG DDU MPH&TM

Diane Davies is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a special interest in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound. She completed her medical training at The University of Western Australia, worked in general practice for 5 years and then proceeded to specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth. Subsequently, Diane trained in ultrasound, obtaining the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound.

Diane is a sessional sonologist within the Ultrasound Department at King Edward Memorial Hospital. She has a special interest in gynaecologic ultrasound, particularly complex gynaecology and interventional gynaecologic sonographic techniques

Dr Davies has a long term interest in Indigenous women’s health and provides specialist outreach services in Central Australia.

A/Prof Jan Dickinson

Jan Dickinson - Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Women's Imaging Services

Jan Dickinson is an obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She completed her medical training at The University of Western Australia and then proceeded to perform specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth. A/Prof Dickinson trained in the subspecialty of Maternal Fetal Medicine at The University of Texas in Houston, before returning to Perth where she completed a specialist degree in obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasound. She has an MD by original research awarded from The University of Western Australia.

Jan is Associate Professor in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the School of Women’s and Infants’ Health, The University of Western Australia and is the Head of the Ultrasound Department at King Edward Memorial Hospital. She is the Chair of the RANZCOG Maternal Fetal Medicine Subspecialty Committee and a member of several state, national and international professional organisations.

She has an active research interest in prenatal diagnosis and ultrasound, having published over 100 articles and book chapters. Jan has particular interests in multiple pregnancies, fetal interventional procedures and in the field of perinatal loss. She is the lead clinician at the KEMH Perinatal Loss Clinic.

Dr Kristy Milward

Dr Kristy Milward

MBBS(WA) FRANZCOG

Kristy Milward is an associate sonologist at Women's Imaging Services. A specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist, Kristy completed her medical degree at The University of Western Australia with post-graduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth and later in Sydney, NSW. Kristy has received post-graduate training in obstetric and gynaecology ultrasound in NSW and Western Australia.

Kristy is also a sessional sonologist within the Ultrasound Department at King Edward Memorial Hospital. She has a special interest in gynaecologic ultrasound, particularly instillation techniques to image the endometrium.

Sonographers

Rae Roberts

Rae Roberts - Specialist Obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasonographer, Women's Imaging Services

DMU, AMS

Rae Roberts is a specialist obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasonographer. She was the first sonographer in Western Australia to specialize in women’s imaging and is currently the Chief Sonographer at the Ultrasound Department at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth. Mrs Roberts has an active research interest in obstetric and gynaecology ultrasound and has published several original research articles. Her particular research interests include ultrasound to localise the impalpable Implanon rod and extrauterine pregnancy.

Rae has a particular interest in the teaching of ultrasound and regularly visits the rural and remote regions of Australia to share her skills in ultrasound.

Joanne Glover

Joanne Glover - Sonographer, Women's Imaging Services

ARRT ARDMS (USA) AMS

Jo trained as a sonographer in the Unites States of America, specialising in obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasound. She returned to Australia more than a decade ago and has worked in ultrasound practices in Melbourne, Victoria and Perth, Western Australia. Jo also works in Ultrasound Department at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth.

Jo has a special interest in caesarean scar ectopic pregnancies and gynaecologic ultrasound techniques.

Dawn Voges

Dawn Voges - Sonographer, Women's Imaging Services

DipAppSci (Rad) DMU AMS

Dawn initially trained as a radiographer in Western Australia, working in both metropolitan and rural regions before focusing on ultrasound, receiving her sonography qualification in the United Kingdom. She returned to Australia to work in Melbourne, where she specialised in obstetric and gynaecologic ultrasound. Dawn is Deputy Chief Sonographer at the Ultrasound Department at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth.

Dawn has a particular interest in the application of computerisation for ultrasound imaging and 3D ultrasound techniques.
